Birds Eye Maple Bowl

Birdseye maple, one of the rarest kinds of wood on the planet, has a distinctive pattern that looks like tiny, swirling eyes disrupting the smooth lines of grain. Birds-eye maple is a form of figured hard maple, it is not a variety or species of maple. What actually causes the phenomenon is still unknown. 
 
This 7" bowl is truley unique!  The swirls and patterns of the figure within the maple created this wonderful looking bowl.  The food safe finish also lends itself to a soft touch as well as a satin look to allow the figure in the grain to stand out on its own.  
 
This bowl is great to use for small fruits, keys, hold small objects, or as a decrative piece.
